Matthias Büchler has more than 29 years of experience as a managing director, Group CEO, Group CFO or supervisory board member and at the same time, more than 15 years of experience as a top management consultant with a focus on the manufacturing industry.

He has a proven and sustained track record in the field of strategic consulting for top management, in reorganization and interim management, change management, handling of M&A projects and expansion strategies as well as in consulting on cross-border business transactions between Switzerland, Germany, the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

Matthias Büchler started his career during the historic changes of the early 1990s as an expat for a leading German car manufacturer in the Czech Republic. 

Based on this experience, he was later asked as an expat to take over the sole management of the Prague subsidiary of a leading and renowned publishing house based in Munich, specializing in medical publications written by medical experts but comprehensible to non-professionals.

Matthias Büchler then decided to study business administration at the University of Economics in Prague to carry out these duties more effectively.

This was followed by further positions as CEO and CFO in the manufacturing industry and the automotive industry in particular, with employee responsibility for up to more than 2,000 people.

In 2006, Matthias Büchler founded his own management consultancy in Amtzell, near the German shore of Lake Constance. He advised a large number of clients and gained an excellent reputation as a successful project manager and especially for his philosophy:

implementation above consulting.

He advised a long-standing client on the sale of his original group of companies to a major US corporation, conducted all negotiations (multilingual) and assisted him in the re-establishment of his new group of companies, an international energy group (renewable energies) with headquarters in Switzerland, Canton Schwyz. Matthias Büchler then worked for this company as a supervisory board member and Group CFO.

As there was increasing demand for Matthias Büchler’s consulting expertise from Swiss industry, he decided to establish his own consulting company in Switzerland in February 2017.

This was followed by a number of major projects, particularly in the field of M&A.

In Switzerland but also in China and South Korea.

Most recently, Matthias Büchler has been primarily responsible for the Group CFO area of a globally active, listed industrial holding company with a focus on automotive suppliers.

He has developed a network of selected former companions and consultant colleagues, who he can call on to act as advisors for upcoming mandates.

Matthias Büchler attaches great importance to the following principles:

Matthias Büchler takes care of each mandate, each consultant and each project as managing director by communicating with the consultant and the client personally and being available to the client at any time by telephone or in a personal meeting.

Only consultants with outstanding expertise, excellent communication skills and experience at the top management levels of industrial companies are used.

Matthias Büchler also personally works alongside clients at their premises when the situation requires. 

Matthias Büchler alone is personally responsible for laying down the professional guidelines for the consultants.

All consultants act strictly in accordance with the principles and internal guidelines of Matthias Büchler Consulting Swiss AG.

The company’s integrated MBC Swiss Competence Center allows for a regular exchange of experience and opinions between all consultants and with the cooperating lawyers and tax experts on all more difficult issues. In this way, we can always arrive at competent solutions – even in difficult cases.

Our work requires cooperation with lawyers and financial experts in Switzerland and the other countries. We have built up a network of excellent partners in Zurich, in Zug and in other countries wherever they are required, who will be happy to assist you at any time.
